Leslie and I took a field trip to a local wall paper store today in search of paper for her client. We came across our oh-so-beloved Cole&Sons – full of wonderful inspiration! It really put me in the mood to work on new motifs for our spring collection!

For the next few weeks we want to help you get to know us, the girls behind UrbanPosture.  The best way to do this is to invite you into our homes and share our surroundings with you.  We’ll be taking turns sharing photos of our homes, families and maybe a few great fall recipes and other hobbies.

Today we offer you another peek into our lives… more like a peek into the furniture we’ve collected.  We find it very hard to pass up a piece of furniture with great style or character. We’ve found many great pieces in thrift stores and alongside driveways abandoned by their previous owners.  I will have to admit that I’ve had to purge  items that have sat in my garage for over three years without ever making it into my house. But… I feel as long as I’ve tried to prolong their lives for just a bit more, my job has sufficed.

There are even times that our furniture is used for great things, last week we had the pleasure of offering up items to be used for the Parlours new music video and  photo shoot.  We are so honored!

It’s amazing to think how well our items coordinate together, we truly do have similar taste in design and style.

We are pleased to announce that UrbanPosture will be participating in ‘Chicago’s 1st Annual Street Festival Celebrating the Home’, aka DESIGN HARVEST.  Renegade Handmade is hosting UrbanPosture along with several of our dearest friends in the DIY Home Decor Pavilion. Unfortunately Leslie and I won’t be there, but if you live in Chicago or surrounding you should mark your calender and make it point to go and check out great art, crafts and  furniture, as well as, music, food and beverages!! They don’t call it festival for nothing!!

We celebrated our one year anniversary this weekend with Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago. We can’t believe it has been an entire year and 4 whole shows we’ve participated in with the Renegade crew.  There are so many wonderful people we have met and have made many great friends over the past year…  all who have blessed our lives incredibly.

We were delighted to find out that our friend Katie from Skunkboy Creatures is having a baby too and is only a month behind Sarah.

Tiffany, one of my childhood friends brings us the most delightful lunch every time we do a show in Chicago. We are spoiled rotten!

What a weekend we had! I came back home to wish I was still there with all those wonderful people.

We aren’t sure how it happened but we got so carried away we forgot to get pictures with many of our other friends we’ve made throughout the year, Gnome Enterprises Boys, Ezra and Joshua, Mark and Beth with Hero Design, Kayana of June Craft, Kylie of Early Jewelry. We hope that we get to see you before another year goes bye. Next year Renegade Craft… we hope to see you again.
